On Friday, November 16th after four treatments of chemo, I got the news I had been longing to hear. YOU’RE IN REMISSION! I waited till Thanksgiving to share the news publicly, however, I did call my tribe to tell them about it. So here’s that day wrapped up in a nice little bow.

Original Thanksgiving post:

Two weeks ago, I had another bone marrow biopsy to evaluate where we are at with the chemotherapy treatments. Last week, Friday, November 16th, I had a follow up with my doctor to get the results. And I’m happy to report that I’m officially in remission!

This doesn’t mean that I’m completely out of the woods just yet. Granted it’s nice to say I beat this within four treatments; however, I still have three more impatient treatments to go. Then comes the bone marrow transplant.

This journey has been completely eye opening and for me. Leukemia has been a Godsend. I never thought I would say that but it’s true. It slowed me down. Brought me closer to God. It made me really appreciate my family and friends. It showed me who the toxic people in my life were. Through it all its shaped me into a stronger, wiser, human. It’s made truly appreciate each and every day.

There have been so many people that have reached out over the last few months with such positivity. I’m beyond grateful for that! Your support and prayers have been such a blessing and key component in my healing. Thank you all for that! I can’t even begin to articulate how grateful I am for everyone who has stuck by my side through this whole ordeal. I’m grateful for nurses who have made it their mission to keep me laughing and to make me feel safe. I’m grateful for my new production team who just get it and who want to work collaboratively. And most of all I’m grateful for my mom who has sacrificed the most to make sure I receive the best treatments. Honestly, I couldn’t have done this without her.

Before I end this outrageously long post, I wanted to give you all an update on Diagnosis: The Series. As most of you all know I’ve been documenting this journey via a vlog/documentary; however, I haven’t released the series just yet. Just snippets here and there. I’m so incredibly proud of it and I can’t wait for you all to see it. But I’m waiting to have all of the episodes completed before I release it to the public. That way there is no pressure to get the next episode out.
