Hi, friend! Thanks for being here with me as I share my work and wellness journey with you. I became passionate about self-care after being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in August 2018 at the age of 29.
Before my diagnosis, I was pursuing a career both in front and behind the camera, which meant I worked long hours and did a massive amount of traveling. Often, I would joke about living out of a suite case and being a nomad, which was also the excuse I gave myself for being lethargic and experiencing rapid weight loss.
Being diagnosed with leukemia was obviously a shock to my system and over the last year and a half I’ve had to adjust and adhere to a new way of life. In order to cope and process all of the overwhelming feelings that are attached to leukemia, I began documenting this journey in the form of vlogging in hopes that by telling my story I could help others who have not only faced leukemia but other vicious illnesses.
My journey into storytelling began in 2011, when I began traveling to all of South Carolina’s State Parks, documenting my journey through videos on Youtube and Facebook via Operation Adventure. In 2013, I decided to head back to school after being accepted into the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of South Carolina. During my time at the university I worked on a wide range of projects with differing job task.
